God Bless the Steelers

This might provide some insight into the Steelers' Super Bowl
win...

John Madden was in Atlanta to announce a football game one weekend when he noticed a special telephone near the Falcon's bench. He asked Michael Vick what it was for and was told that it was the hotline to God. John asked if he could use it. Michael Vick told him Sure, but it will cost you $100." Madden scratched his head, then thought, what the heck. I need a break picking the games. He pulled out his wallet and paid the $100. Madden was perfect that week.

The next week Madden was in Florida when he noticed the same kind of telephone on the Miami bench. He asked Ricky Williams what the telephone was for and was told "It's the hotline to God. If you want to use it, it'll cost you $100." Recalling the previous week, Madden pulled out his wallet and made the call. Madden was perfect that week.

The next weekend Madden was in Pittsburgh at Heinz Field, when he noticed the same kind of telephone by the Steelers bench. He asked Coach Bill Cowher, "Is that telephone the hotline to God?" Bill said "Yes and if you want to use it, it'll cost 35 cents." Madden looked incredulously at Cower and said, "Wait a second; I just paid $100 at Atlanta and $100 at Miami to use the same telephone to God. Why does Pittsburgh only charge 35 cents?"

Bill looked at Madden and smiled, "In Pittsburgh, it's a local call."

Steelers Win!

CHAMPIONS!
Wow, what a game. The defense held the highest scoring team in the league to 10 points. The offense struggled at first and found it's groove. The Bus says good-bye, going out on top. We will miss you Bus. I'm exhausted. I feel like I played in that game.

They Believed

And they got there...

Another fine tribute to the 2005/06 Pittsburgh Steelers. The music will give you chills. I love this stuff...

The Super Bowl Poem

For my frequent readers, you know I've written a poem every week before the Steelers game since the Cleveland game on Christmas eve. I can't stop now.

The time has come, for the big show,
We’re all thrilled, The Bus got to go.

The upcoming battle, on Sunday night,
Is sure to be fun, is sure to be a fight.

A fight we have craved, as Steeler fans,
Each and every week, we always fill our stands.

Terrible towels waving, black and gold all around,
Nothing better than football, not in this town.

It couldn’t be done, so we’ve been told,
Three games on the road, surely we’d fold.

But in Cincinnati, the Steelers had their way,
When the Steelers stepped up, and anwered Who Dey?

Next week we were better, just ask the Colts,
With our curtain of steel, and a few nuts and bolts.

Then it was out west, up to Mile High,
Where our beloved Steelers, made Bronco fans cry.

We destroyed them all, with our Steeler D,
And with Big Ben’s arm, best in the AFC.

Now it’s on to Detroit, a dream come true,
It’s been 25 years, I think that we’re due.

Now it's the Seahawks, that will face our wrath,
They are going to regret, trying to block our path.

Their team is good, we can’t deny,
They have some players, but there is one guy.

The league’s leading rusher, we’ve all seen the tape,
But he’ll get stomped and smashed, like Alexander the Grape.

We’ve got Troy Polamalu, I think he’s Hawaiian,
He’ll come on a Blitz, his hair a flyin.

You don't want to forget, about Joey Porter,
Running his mouth, he’ll give ‘em no quarter.

We've got Hines Ward, the man is all heart,
You can bet your salary, he’ll do his part.

Big Ben is on fire, like a flame plus gas,
If they stop the run, we’ll just go to the pass.

Big Ben told the Bus, just one more year,
The Bus chose to stay, and now the time is here.

Now the Chief is looking down, smoking his stoagie,
The best seat in the house, he just ordered a hoagie.

So in case you haven’t heard, this is the year,
For the land of perogis, and Iron City Beer.

One for the thumb, that is our creed,
Black and Gold, is what we bleed.

And just in case, you still don’t know,
Here we go Steelers, here we Go!
