Are We Just Stupid?

I'm just curious...

What the hell are we doing? Are we trying to make it as difficult as possible to fight the war on terror? Have we completely lost our collective minds? If it isn't the New York Times publishing secret programs that help capture terrorists, it's the Supreme Court telling us that we have to afford Geneva Convention protections to a group of people who are not bound by the Geneva Conventions. Not only that, these people don't even come close to the definition of a POW as stated in the Geneva Convention. Seems to me this latest Supreme Court decision stinks of instituting international law in spite of our own Constitution. To be perfectly honest, it seems to me they can't even read what the Geneva Conventions actually states. I've done this before, but let's do it again, shall we? Actual text from the Geneva Conventions in Blue, my comments in White:

PART I
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 4A.

Prisoners of war, in the sense of the present Convention, are persons belonging to one of the following categories, who have fallen into the power of the enemy:

1. Members of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict as well as members of militias or volunteer corps forming part of such armed forces.

-Terrorists can in no way be considered members of "the armed forces of a Party to the conflict" because there is no state being represented by the terrorists. Terrorists in this conflict come from Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and in some cases, even the U.S. They do not represent a single party in the conflict.

2. Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfill the following conditions:

(a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates;

-There is clearly no chain of command in these independent cells of terrorists. There is no commander responsible for subordinates. Some may be loyal to bin Laden, but they act independent from him.

(b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance;

-They have no standard, no insignia, no rank structure, or nothing that designates them as a member of a militia or military service. They attack and fight in civilian clothes and cannot be distinguished from civilians.

(c) That of carrying arms openly;

-Hiding a bomb under a jacket clearly does not qualify as carrying arms openly.

(d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war.

-I cannot think of a single reported terrorist act that meets this criteria. A pregnant woman delivering a bomb doesn't even comply with the laws of nature much less "the laws and customs of war."

Granted, I'm no Supreme Court Justice, and I'm not the smartest guy on the planet, but I can read! Looks pretty clear to me that none of these people at Gitmo, especially bin Laden's driver fit the description of a POW as laid out in the Geneva Conventions.

So, am I crazy or should the GC protections be afforded to those that signed onto the treaty itself. What the Supreme Court has done by insisting GC protections be afforded to terrorists is insinuate we have a treaty with al Qaida. When did that happen?

Look, I appreciate the Rule of Law and the notion of that is what separates us from these barbarians trying to kill us. And make no mistake, they are trying to kill us. However, when we wrongfully and purposely misinterpret the law and the Constitution in a case as important as this one, the entire notion of the Rule of Law is lost. So you've gone against the very image you are trying to portray to the rest of the world in the first place. It doesn't do much good to be the most civilized country on the planet, if you do everything in your power to help those that want to end your civilization. And don't think for one second, that's not what the Islam-Fascists want. That is exactly what they want. They've wanted it for a thousand years, and it's not going to stop if we're nice to them.

Wake up people!

E.D. Hill is Ticked

And rightly so....

On the Fox and Friends morning show on Fox News, host E.D. Hill just goes off on the lack of outrage over the two American service brutally murdered in Iraq. It's good to see this kind of passion from someone in the media beside we bloggers. Click it to play it.

Thanks to Thirdee at our Sister Site, Code Red 4 The Troops for this one.

E.D. hits it right on the head. All of the left wing, anti-war pukes just don't get it. The terrorists in Iraq do stuff like this to our boys and we're consumed and upset by putting panties on somebody's head? We're freaking out over the monitoring of financial transfers? Give me a freaking break.

Why aren't we, as a nation, as ONE nation, motivated by this type of brutality? Why does the left refuse to see what we are dealing with here? Because if they show outrage towards this enemy, they will have to concede that the President is right! We need to be there. We have to defeat these people. We have to hunt them down and kill them.

I'm sorry, but you can't make peace with someone that is willing to cut another human being's genitals off and stuff them in their mouth. That type of behavior by a criminal in the U.S. would only result in anger and a desire for justice from anyone who read about it. But when a terrorist does it to two of our soldiers, there is no outrage from the left? Now that I think about it, perhaps that's why there's no outrage from the left. Perhaps the left feels, "well, they were American soldiers, they probably deserved it." Let me tell you something; the only peace that can be made with someone that is willing to cut the heart out of another human being is to make sure they Rest In Peace. That's how you get peace with these animals.

Side Note: For those of you who don't understand what E.D. Hill meant in reference to the Geneva Convention and the wearing of uniforms, go to my Deal With It page and scroll about half way down to my article titled "Clarification on the Geneva Convention Definition of Prisoner of War."

Murtha Must Go!

I've had it with this moron...

One of our brothers in the War on Liberalism, The Violence Worker has a post up about Rep. John Murtha. You all know this idiot. The one that likes to proclaim our troops as murderers before an investigation is even complete. Apparently, Murtha believes that the U.S. is a bigger threat to the world than North Korea and Iran.

I think someone has forgotten to take his medication because that has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The Violence Worker has stated it so well, no need for me to do it. Go here to read his take.

I think we may have a real chance here in Pennsylvania to get this moron out of his long held Congressional seat. Diana Irey is mounting up a good campaign against this guy. Check out her ideas here.

We need national attention brought to this race because it is time for Murtha to go.

Hundreds of WMD found in Iraq

Imagine that...

Well, it was only a matter of time. Here's a Link to one news story, and I'm sure you will here more on this in the coming days. From the story:

Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-Mich.) announced Wednesday the finding of over 500 munitions or weapons of mass destruction, specifically "sarin- and mustard-filled projectiles," in Iraq.

Reading from unclassified portions of a document developed by the U.S. intelligence community, Santorum said, "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent. Despite many efforts to locate and destroy Iraq's pre-Gulf War chemical munitions, filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist."

According to Santorum, "That means in addition to the 500, there are filled and unfilled munitions still believed to exist within the country."

Well, let's see, what will be the spin from the left on this one in the coming days? Oh, that's a very small amount of WMD; This isn't enough justification for the 2500 soldiers that have died; It doesn't matter what happens in Iraq, the left will downplay it because they can't get on board. They can't possibly admit that this was the right thing to do. If they do that, they lose the only political pieces they have to play. Lord knows they don't have any ideas of their own.

It will be interesting to see if the MSM does anything with this story. People do need to realize, this is a big deal. Bottom line, Saddam lied about destroying these weapons and we have no reason to believe he would hesitate to use them or sell them to bin Laden. We know he had dealings with bin Laden in the past, according to a 1999 ABC News report (Real Player Video or click HERE for MP3 Audio). Why would we think he wasn't capable of dealing with him again?

Flip Flop is Back

I am so glad he got his ass kicked in 04...

I know, I know, what's the point on beating up on Senator John Kerry? Well, it's just good fun. It's the simple pleasures in life that I enjoy. Playing catch with my kids. A warm camp fire on a chilly night. Going to the county fair and making fun of carneys. A collection of sound bites from an idiot senator that shows exactly how idiotic he really is. These are things that make life worth living.

Gimme Two Cheesesteaks

That's not so hard to say is it?

Surely by now, you've heard about this restaurant in Philly that the owner, Joey Vento, has a sign that reads: "This is AMERICA ... WHEN ORDERING SPEAK ENGLISH." In fact, he's had it up for over 6 months now.

I wasn't going to weigh in on this, but now I must. A story that ran in the Philadelphia Inquirer caught my attention and I can't just let it go. In fact, it's making me crazy...

Geno's Steaks was served with a complaint from the Commission on Human Relations that states:

"The restaurant is in violation of two sections of the city's antidiscrimination laws: denying service to someone because of his or her national origin, and having printed material making certain groups of people feel their patronage is unwelcome."

Did you read that carefully? "Denying service to someone because of his or her national origin." That's the charge, "denying service to someone."

Now, this is what makes me nuts. Later in the story you read this quote from the Rev. James S. Allen Sr., The city's Commission on Human relations chairman:

"The issue is not whether anyone has been denied service, but that such a sign discourages people from coming asking for service."

So, according to this Commission on Human Relations, the issue is not if Joey committed actual discrimination by denying service to someone.

-But Goose, the charge is "Denying service to someone."-

Yes, I know. But according to the Rev. James S. Allen Sr., denying someone service isn't the issue, even though it is the charge.

You see where I'm going with this? This may be the first time in history that a complaint has been filed where the accuser is admitting the accused never committed the offense. In fact, the accuser thinks committing the offense isn't even the issue.

Apparently, the issue is a guy trying to discourage potential money spending customers from entering his restaurant. The nerve of some people huh?

Now, is it me, or is that about the silliest damn thing you've ever heard?

Ok, Joey puts up a sign that says, "Speak English When Ordering" and he is getting complaints from Commission on Human Relations because he is supposedly discouraging people from purchasing his sandwiches, because you know discouraging potential customers is always a good idea... (note sarcasm)

Let me ask you this: Does New York Times put out a Spanish version of their paper? How about a Chinese version of their paper? There are tons of Chinese people living in New York City. What about an Italian version? How about a German version? Oh wait, we mustn't leave out the poor Native Americans. Do they put out a Sioux version of the New York Times? How about a Cherokee? Surely they put out a Cherokee version of their paper. No? Hmm...

So it would seem, the New York Times is "discouraging" non-English speaking people in this country from buying their paper. Now, why would they do that? Are they being accused of Discrimination?

No? Why not? Because English is the language we speak in the United States. So here's an idea. When you're in a country and you want to stay, it's probably a pretty good idea to learn the language that ALL OF THE FREAKING PAPERS ARE PRINTED IN!

Don't ya think?

Joey is just trying to encourage people to learn English for crying out loud. Leave him alone.

A Question to you Libs Out There

This is a tough one, so take your time...

Why is it when you protest against the war in Iraq, you protest against our President and our troops? Why don't you protest against the terrorists that perpetuate the violence in Iraq with their attacks on civilians?

Did it ever occur to you that if the terrorists in Iraq stopped attacking children on a bus, that maybe we'd get the hell out of there?

Did it ever occur to you that if we stopped finding heads in fruit baskets that we'd get out of there?

Did it ever occur to you that if the car bombs would stop, maybe, just maybe Iraq would stabilize itself and we could bring our boys home?

Call me crazy, but maybe, just maybe if these "insurgents" or "Freedom Fighters" as some on the left have called them, would stop purposely targeting children on school buses, maybe we'd feel more comfortable leaving the country.

You see, our goal from the start of this thing was to leave Iraq better off than when we found it. And who is standing in the way of that progress? Is it the U.S.? No, I don't believe it is. That would be the insurgents that keep blowing shit up.

So, the next time you feel the need to make a little sign, and join all your loser hippie friends on some street, why not protest against the Islamo-fascist murders that keep blowing up kids?

Just a thought...
